Health & Safety: About

Practicing Yoga Safely

Yoga practice can be wonderful for people of all abilities, for our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. As with all forms of exercise, you must use appropriate caution and be aware of your body throughout the session. You are responsible for your practice, so pay attention to how you feel throughout the class. If anything in the class is painful then stop, and know that all poses and directions are optional - you are empowered to do what is right in your body. Make sure that I am aware of any conditions that you have before you start the class, so that I can make sure that you are supported appropriately. I am qualified to support with First Aid for in person classes.

Props are a great addition to our practice to help make poses more accessible for all of our bodies, and are a fantastic tool for building a healthy yoga practice - please use them if they are available to you.

Special considerations if practicing online or at home - practice in an area with plenty of space and light so that you aren't likely to bump into anything. Let me know if at any time you are feeling unwell, and pay attention to your body in the postures as you would in person - if anything hurts then stop. Please also do keep your camera on so that I can see if you need any assistance. When you register for an online class, it is good practice to share your accurate location when booking so that in the event of needing any assistance, I can support with getting emergency services to your address.
